Endless Tales and Infinite Wishes

It's been like more than a week since I last posted here. I guess I am just being so drunk with writing again. I have never felt so inspired like this. Lots of things happened this week. I have continued my novel and finally finished it. And I've read a new book. New songs discovered. There's just so many things!

Okay. I sound so silly here. Let me just explain clearly all of it. For some of you who doesn't know, I love writing and I have finally finished my first ever novel, "The 8th Wish"!! Yay!! Well, not really the first, but it's the first one that is actually complete. That's an achievement for me. I wrote it back in February last year and now, I am done with it. I finished it with 42,000+ words! It's not a large number, it's actually pretty small but still, it's another achievement.

Book Cover designed by me!! Haha!

Last week, a friend lend me the book "Perks of Being A Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky. I've been dying to get my hand of that book and it's a brilliant one. One of the best books I have ever read! It's perfect for teenagers like me.

It's a roller coaster ride of love, drugs, sex and stuffs teens go with. It's about finding who you are and exploring the world of puberty. It's one amazing book. Trust me, read this one and you will be inspired.

Speaking of inspired, let me go back to my book. I am so inspired by this one that I decided to look back to my work to find out that it's a total chaos. Thanks to Samantha Sotto who has been giving me tips on being a published author, I got ideas on how to improve my craft.

Right before I edited it, I have sent queries to agents not knowing that my book sucks as of the moment. By now, I have gotten two rejections and it didn't hurt me. I really wanted to improve. Now, I am almost done with the revisions and it has grown to around 54,000+ words!! Totally Amazing!! And  I went back to my profile in Wattpad and now I am active again. Plus, I got to see the trailer I made for the story and it made me laugh!! haha!

The Movie Poster I created.. In Wattpad, you can create a cast for your characters and mine is Logan Lerman and Vanessa Hudgens. :)
Here's the trailer! Please don't laugh.. lol!

I will not be as inspired as I am right now without of course songs that helps me get those juicy imagination flowing. I have fallen in love with Arshad's "Infinite". It's one amazing song. I have been replaying it for over a hundred times now.. I swear! It is the soundtrack of the movie version of "Perks of Being A Wallflower". The lyrics are based on the wordings from the book. I am actually listening to the whole track list as well as some of the songs mentioned in the book itself.

I have fallen for instrumentals as well. And these two have captivated me. The first one, "Walking with Happiness" by The Band Pessimist is more lively and really gets you going. I love the keyboard playing. It was like heaven.

The second one, "Endless Tales" by The Polar Dream is another song to try. It's so emotional and has a poetic sense it it. It makes you cry.

Anyway, here is the synopsis of my work and the link to where you can read it. (it's the second and edited version).

“It was like this place was the only place I knew where everyone can be who they want to be, who they really are. No pretentions at all. And for a minute, I didn’t wanted this moment to end. I never knew that fun could be this fun. These all came by surprise. Fuck! And now, I am starting to swear in my head again. Not because I hated it. Not because I don’t enjoy these things. I swear because I felt pleased and perfect for the first time. I have never smiled like this before.”

Tristan Anderson is an ordinary teenager born from a wealthy family. With no father and mother, he was raised by the caretaker of their house, Lily, whom he treated as her mother. Trying to run away from his life, he wanted to discover things. Things he never had the chance to enjoy. At the young age of seventeen, he found out that he was battling a tumor in his head that caused him brain cancer, that he has a year left to live. Then comes Allison Harvard, daughter of a preacher and reverend, who works at a local grocery store to support her studies. As their world collides, their indifference were put to a test. A guy who hated the world and only wanted to die and a girl whose inspiring words and smile gives a bright light of hope. Enter the world of first love, sex, alcohols and cigarettes. The Precious Diner. Saturday parties and Sunday worships. Hospital beds and therapies. Of acceptance and bullying. Lesbians with tattoos. Persons trying to fit in. And the world of discovering who you really are and what it really means to be alive.

A poignant tale of life, death and the love that comes in between, The 8th Wish is a story of a young boy trying to navigate through hatred and tears, with unexpected twists and turns, spiritual and inspirational passages, proving that there is more to life and love that what it seems.

Well, I guess I have to catch up with outfit posts.. but maybe not too.. I just have to write.. it's like breathing.. I cannot live without it. By the way, in case you are wondering what the title meant, it's just the mixture of everything here.. :)

You can read The 8th Wish here.

Cheers~!

Just follow your dream. Keep on writing. But better yet attempt to enroll on a writers workshop. This will hone your skills. Again, keep on writing!

Hindi ka lang pala trendsetter, fine writer ka pa. Congrats bro, yung novel ko 3 decades na, hindi ko pa rin natatapos. Siguro you can help me with a tip or two kung paano tapusin ang nobela.

It takes a lot of effort and time, and of course a lot of inspiration to write a novel. So I'm glad that you've finished yours. It would also help to have someone proofread your story, to make it more polished. :)
